New York ~ 2008 - Present Freelancing for JWT eventually turned into a full-time affair. So now I spend my days trying to do great things for brands like Rolaids, Listerine, Pepcid, and, sometimes, Smirnoff. Freelance ~ 2007 - 2008 Life as a full-time freelancer took me to agencies like JWT, Nitro, McCann, and Wolff-Olins, where I worked on brands such as Schick, Rolex, Footlocker, Champs, Verizon, Major League Baseball, and Washington Mutual...as well as on new business endeavors. BBDO, New York ~ 2005 - 2007 Legendary, that place. The halls are full of rockstars. And I did my damndest to win hunks of metal for clients like DirecTV, Gillette, Frito-Lay, Pizza Hut, Motorola, and the NFL. Dentsu, New York ~ 2003 - 2005 What started as a freelance project for Canon digital cameras and printers became my full time gig for two years. Sold a few decent ads AND produced my first TV spot, which starred tennis ingenue, Maria Sharapova. Y&R, Budapest; Bates, Budapest; DDB, Budapest; BBDO, Budapest ~ 2002 I consider 2002 my year of promiscuity. Of course, working at these agencies as a freelancer on projects ranging from Danone yogurt to Figyelõ magazine to Rauch juices to Amstel beer means that the relationship is inevitably short term. Publicis, Amsterdam ~ 2001 Despite several near death experiences while biking to work, I developed television concepts for Badedas shower gel and Sanex facial soap. Leo Burnett, Prague ~ 2001 When not enjoying dumplings and beer, I spent my days in Prague working on TV concepts for Sprite, which was to restage itself in central Europe. Also produced some collateral ditties for a client called CV-Online, which is essentially the Monster.com of central Europe. |

Portuguese Eu tinha uma namorada brasileira, e aprendi o português assim. (I had a Brazilian girlfriend and that's how I learned Portuguese.) I actually love all things Brazilian. French J'ai etudié le français dans l'ecole, et je l'ai même etudié en France, mais je ne le parle pas comme je parle le portugais. (I studied French in high school, and even in France, but I don't speak it like I do Portuguese.) I like french fries very much, though. Piano The underside of my parents' old piano is cracked from all the kicking I gave it as a child while being forced to practice. But I play rather well these days. So maybe the tantrums were worth it. Mushroom Omlettes Some people are born with a gift. I guess this is mine. |
